The classic hotel has over 2,000 luxury hotel rooms and suites, as well as a casino that measures just under 50,000 sq ft. Owned by Landry’s since 2005, the Golden Nugget was first built in 1946 and has undergone many changes and improvements since then. When Landry’s took ownership, they began a multi-million dollar renovation project in three phases.
With four towers in total, the hotel is expansive and thanks to renovations over the years, most of the décor remains modern and high quality. Many of the rooms have marble tubs and vanities, and some have floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the views of downtown Vegas and further afield. There’s a large outdoor pool with a three-story waterslide, which takes guests through a secured shark tank. The hotel doesn’t charge a resort fee to guests.
The Room & Suite Selection
The Golden Nugget is essentially made up of four towers – the Rush Tower, the Carson Tower, the Gold Tower and the Spa Tower. The Rush Tower is the newest and most luxurious of the lot. It opened in late 2009 and boasts larger rooms, some of which have good views of the strip, the Spring Mountains and the hotel’s pool. Guests who want to be right in the center of the action might want to choose the Gold Tower, which is located just off the casino floor.
As with any Las Vegas hotel, the rates vary depending on the time of year and the day of week you’re staying, but it is possible to find rooms for under $50 per night at the Golden Nugget.
One Bedroom Parlor Suites (Gold Tower) – Parlor Suite guests will enjoy VIP check in services. Each suite has a separate bedroom and living room, as well as a wet bar. One Bedroom Spa Suites (Spa Tower) – Each suite in the Spa Tower measures about 1,200 sq ft stretching across two floors. Deluxe Rooms (Carson Tower) – The Carson Tower was formerly named the South Tower, but has been renamed and renovated. The deluxe rooms feature marble bathrooms with separate vanity areas, and depending on the time of year or day of the week, rates can be very low (approximately $40 and up per night).
